Threads Lifting
The non-surgical lifting
THREAD LIFT
WHAT IS THE THREAD LIFT?
It is a modern method of non – surgical lifting, with special threads that are applied to lift up the skin, bringing back its youthful and firm appearance. In cases of excess skin laxity, on the face and neck, the thread lift can’t replace a surgical lift, by no means. However, it is a really good alternative to a surgical lift, for people with mild to moderate skin laxity, who want to avoid surgery.
This method does not require surgical intervention and incisions and has immediate, visible results and a minimum recovery time.
After the application of a local anaesthetic, the threads are inserted under the skin, with extremely fine needles or special atraumatic cannulas. By removing the needle or the cannula, the thread, which is inside them, remains in the predetermined position that the doctor have chosen, in order to lift up the skin.
Practically everywhere. Wherever the skin needs support and firming, especially after the age of 35, when the first signs of skin laxity, begin to appear.
Threads are an effective treatment for skin laxity, in various areas of the face, such as the cheeks, the nasolabial folds, the brows, the eyes, the jawline and also the neck.
Thread lifting can be used in the body, to fight skin laxity and cellulite, providing tightening effects and a visible lift to the thighs, buttocks, knees, abdomen and arms.
Besides the immediate, visible results, as the threads begin to biodegrade and dissolve over time, the production of natural collagen and elastin, which is locally stimulated, further strengthens and supports the skin, from within.
There are three types of threads. These are the smooth PDO threads, the barbed COG threads and the Lift threads such as the Swiss Luxeface / Luxebody, the Silhouette Soft and APTOS.
- PDO threads
These threads are made from PDO (Polydioxanone), which is a material used in surgery for many years, for wound suturing and they are absolutely safe, strictly following the European Safety standards (CE). PDO threads differ from other types of threads, as they are smooth threads (non – barbed).
They are applied, either horizontally or vertically or in a grid, depending on the application area and the severity of skin laxity. The results of PDO thread lifting are immediately visible, due to the suspension mechanics of the threads and are even more impressive, when they are being combined, with lift threads. - COG Threads
These threads are barbed threads, which are self-suspended in the treatment areas. They correct the skin laxity directly and trigger also the production of collagen internally, under the skin, which prevents further laxity. COG threads can be placed in many areas of the face, lifting up the face, the cheeks and the neck and can be combined with PDO threads, in order to enhance the lifting effect and the duration of the results. Due to their special support, facial skin lifting is immediate and to a much greater extent, compared to that of PDO threads. - Swiss Luxeface – Luxebody threads
They are special threads, manufactured to the highest standards of Swiss quality and offer a variety of threads’ types, such as PDO (Polydioxanone), PLLA (Poly L-Lactic Acid) and PCL (Poly Caprolactone), which can be used together, at the same session. They are applied horizontally, vertically and diagonally, creating a grid and the effects of lifting, are impressive and directly visible. - Silhouette Soft threads
These are lift threads, with small bidirectional cones on them, which are made of polylactic acid, a substance that stimulates fibroblasts, to produce new collagen. After Silhouette Soft threads application, the skin of the face and neck is lifting up and furthermore, a brow lift can also be achieved. - APTOS threads
These are lift threads for face and body, which offer, even more tissue support and maximum lift in the application area, due to their advanced structure. They are suitable for demanding cases of skin laxity and give immediate and very impressive results. They are categorized in APTOS Visage, APTOS Thread 2G and APTOS Body and are used, depending on the application area and type of problem. APTOS threads are advanced lifting threads, offering even better lifting results, compared to PDO and COG threads.
